Youth Justice Officer – Manchester
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Justice Officer to join our team in Blackpool, with a specific focus on supporting children and young people through the court process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in youth justice and demonstrable experience in providing advocacy, guidance, and emotional support to children appearing in court. This role requires excellent communication skills, a trauma-informed approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with legal professionals and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
The primary purpose of the post is to protect the public, reduce reoffending, and safeguard children and young people in the criminal justice system. The role of the post is to carry out the objectives of the Youth Justice Plan for Blackpool, to improve outcomes for children and young people in the criminal justice system, and to improve performance against local and national indicators.
Working arrangements are hybrid – we expect staff in Tuesday and Wednesdays as a team and one additional day. We operate a youth court so the additional day will be agreed in advance as part of our duty rota.

* Enhanced DBS/Update service.
* References required for the last 5 years of employment.
