Legal Counsel – Manager Level
Base Location: London, Reading, or other KPMG UK office locations (20 offices nationwide)
The KPMG OGC Commercial team plays a vital role in supporting our UK business. It is part of KPMG Business Services (KBS), where we undertake meaningful work.
Within KBS, we comprise a community of experts across various critical activities that help grow, operate, and safeguard KPMG in the UK. Our areas include HR and Learning, Finance, Procurement, Facilities, Business Support, Risk, Legal, Corporate Affairs, and Sales and Marketing. Our goal is to enhance the firm's performance through diligence and expertise.

We seek a lawyer with at least 2 years of PQE to join our busy OGC Commercial team at the manager level. This team reviews and negotiates various documents between KPMG and its clients or third parties.
The work often involves tight deadlines and clients with legal and procurement teams focused on securing advantageous terms. Strong drafting and negotiating skills are essential, along with pragmatism and effective task management. Interaction with stakeholders such as data protection, information security, pursuits, and Risk is also important.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working on a range of matters, including approving KPMG’s new services and products
* Assisting with general commercial queries
* Drafting software licenses
* Supporting deal teams and providing contract support for engagement teams
* Negotiating and drafting framework and master services agreements alongside client lead partners and specialists
Qualifications and skills required:
* Qualified lawyer with at least 2 years PQE
* Strong drafting and negotiating skills
* Pragmatism, good judgment, and effective time management
* Experience in a professional services environment is advantageous
* Ability to manage workload while adhering to KPMG’s training and administrative standards
Desired skills:
* Excellent organizational and time management skills; capable of working effectively under pressure with conflicting priorities
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities; confident with stakeholders at all levels
* Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
