Job Summary
We are seeking a customer centric QHSE manager with a sound knowledge of quality systems. Quality will dominate as a requirement over HSE as we do have outsourcing opportunities to support the HSE proactive and detail‑driven quality manager to lead the organisation's quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement activities.
The successful candidate will own and develop our quality management processes, maintain ISO9001 accreditation, ensure product compliance with UK/EU and international standards, and oversee site‑level HSE and facility‑management responsibilities.
This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role that requires strong communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Support and both internal & external Customers globally.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS) & Certification
• Maintain, develop, and continually improve the company's ISO 9001 QMS.
• Lead internal audits, manage external audits, and coordinate corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure all processes, documentation, and records meet certification requirements.
• Ensure that quality objectives are established and achieved.
• Act as the primary point of contact for auditors and certification bodies.
Product Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
• Manage and maintain product compliance documentation including:
UK/EU Declarations of Conformity
UL/CSA approval
RoHS, REACH, and other environmental/chemical regulations
• Coordinate with Engineering to ensure compliance is met for new and existing products.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and standards.
Product & Customer Quality Performance
• Monitor and report product quality performance & reliability data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
• Own and manage the customer satisfaction measurement process, including customer feedback, complaints, and follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Act as the site-level Health & Safety lead.
• Maintain company H&S policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
• Coordinate H&S training, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety legislation and best practices.
Facilities Management
• Oversee the day-to-day condition, maintenance and safety of the building and office environment.
• Manage contractor relationships for building services, safety inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure the facility supports safe, efficient operations for all teams.
Skills & Experience:
Essential
• Proven experience in a Quality Management role within manufacturing, electronics, or engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality-audit methodologies.
• Experience with product compliance schemes (e.g. CE/UKCA, UL, RoHS, REACH).
• Solid understanding of quality performance metrics and root cause analysis techniques.
• Experience managing Health & Safety responsibilities within a business.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Desirable
• Experience in industrial automation, electronics manufacturing, or similar technical sectors.
• Formal qualifications in Quality Management (e.g. CQI), H&S (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH).
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks.
• IPC-A-610 certification.
