About the Job
As a supervisor, you will provide a high quality, customer and quality focused service through the supervision of a team of skilled trade operatives delivering a range of contracted services for and behalf the London Borough of Hounslow
You will oversee and supervise trade operatives and offer guidance where necessary to support those in the field and in supervisory/managerial positions. You will be part of a team of supervisors that delivers exceptional performance through a team of engaged and high performing employees.
To always understand and comply with all Health and safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities include:
Effectively supervise a team of skilled trade operatives offering support and guidance where needed, ensuring work activity is completed on time.
To ensure a high standard of work is always carried out by the in-house team and external contractors through regular site visits.
Conduct regular one to one meetings with operatives to discuss performance, development, share feedback and check-in on wellbeing.
Manage any performance conduct or absence issues in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
Identify opportunities to enhance operational performance and customer excellence through continuous improvement of processes, procedures and systems.
To work with other areas within the business and effectively allocate and schedule labour where it is most needed.
Responsible for a company vehicle that transports tools and materials which includes regular vehicle checks on company vans and services and maintenance of own vehicles used for work including driving licenses and business vehicle insurances.
Responsible for ensuring operatives’ company vehicles are clean and maintained in accordance with Fleet requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork/electronic updates including timesheets within agreed timescales.
. To display a high level of customer care when dealing with enquiries from tenants and leaseholders and contribute positively towards a high-quality customer focused service.
To always ensure the safety of oneself and others by working within the councils Health and Safety policy and procedures associated with repair and planned works.
To implement and work within a CDM controlled/monitored site.
These duties and responsibilities should be regarded as neither exclusive nor exhaustive as the post holder may be required to undertake other reasonably determined duties and responsibilities within the company, commensurate with the grading of the post, without changing the general character of the post.
Able to drive and hold a full driving licence.
To maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and ensure tools are checked regularly to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose.
Ensure you remain up to date with all relevant compliance and mandatory training that will enable you to fulfil the requirements of your role.
Provide operational support across various workstreams, ensuring resources are deployed effectively to meet changing business needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain service continuity and achieve organisational objectives.
Adapt to shifting priorities and contribute to projects outside the primary remit when required.
Education & Qualifications desirable:
Apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ 2-3 equivalent relevant experience.
Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role.
Working knowledge of statutory legislation with regards to health & safety and to understand the need to follow rigorous risk assessment and method statement procedures.
Previous experience of working in a Social Housing Repairs environment is desirable.
Good level of numeracy, literacy, written, oral and communication skills
Experience of working within a customer facing role, delivering a outstanding customer experience
Full UK driving license
