United Drains is a leading UK commercial plumbing and drainage company, delivering high-quality services to businesses nationwide. Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced *Drainage Lining Engineers* to join our expanding team.
*Job Summary:*
A Drainage Lining Engineer installs, repairs, and maintains drainage and sewer systems using modern lining techniques such as cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining. The role involves working in confined spaces, operating specialist equipment, and ensuring drainage systems are restored efficiently with minimal disruption.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Carry out inspections of drainage systems using CCTV equipment
* Prepare pipes for lining (cleaning, jetting, and clearing blockages)
* Install lining systems such as patch lining and full-length liners
* Operate specialist machinery and tools safely and effectively
* Work in confined spaces following health and safety regulations
* Diagnose drainage issues and recommend appropriate repair methods
* Complete job reports, documentation, and site records
* Liaise with supervisors, clients, and team members on-site
* Ensure all work complies with industry standards and environmental regulations
*Skills and Qualifications:*
* Experience in drainage, plumbing, or civil engineering preferred
* Knowledge of lining systems (e.g., CIPP, patch lining)
* Ability to work in confined spaces (relevant certification often required)
* Understanding of health and safety practices (e.g., CSCS card in the UK)
* Full UK driving licence
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Working Conditions:*
* Outdoor and site-based work in various weather conditions
* May involve weekends, or emergency call-outs
* Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, and confined space entry
* Hours 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday
*Salary (UK typical range):*
* £40,000.00 - £50,000.00 per year (depending on experience and certifications)
