Careers and Employability Advisor
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire (Will be required to work at other college sites as and when required)

Role
In this exciting and pivotal role as a Careers and Employability Advisor at the Group, you will be focused on providing outstanding careers and employability information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to all of the students, supporting them in their educational and career progression.
As a key member of the careers team, you will deliver a high level of careers information, advice and guidance. You will support learners with their choices in regards to their career progression and set SMART career targets to support the learners to positive destinations.
You will provide students and potential students with the information they need to make decisions on future studies or employment at the end of their time at college. This is a role in which you can genuinely change lives through offering students the support and guidance they need to help them decide the steps they need to take in order to help them achieve their aspirations.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality guidance: Provide a high level of impartial careers information, advice and guidance, helping learners navigate their choices regarding their future career paths and education.
* Facilitate progression: Work with students to set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time:bound) career targets that effectively support their transition to positive destinations (e.g., employment, apprenticeships, or higher education).
* Host 1:to:1 appointments: Conduct confidential one:to:one careers appointments with students, offering personalised support tailored to individual needs and aspirations.
* Deliver group sessions: Design and deliver engaging careers and employability sessions to groups of students, often within the curriculum departments, ensuring integrated and relevant learning across the Group.
Skills and Qualifications
You will have experience with student guidance, working with learners of all ages and abilities. You will have experience of creating innovative resources and delivering group sessions therefore strong presentation skills are essential.
You will have a Level 3 in Initial Advice and Guidance, a careers related qualification or be willing to undertake these. You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake). The Group will support you to undertake the careers information, advice and guidance qualification level 6. This will support College to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks.
You will ideally have knowledge of qualifications within Further Education and progression route.
Department Info
You will report directly to the Careers and Enterprise Leader as part of the Careers Team and will work with the Students Support team, referring students onto them as required, for instance if a student is experiencing financial or emotional issues.
You will develop links with Curriculum teams in order to promote the Careers Team and the information and guidance that the team can provide. Your role also supports the achievement of the Gatsby Benchmarks and the accreditation for the Matrix.
