Position
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Adult Nurse to contribute to and deliver a comprehensive Primary Care Service within HMP Kilmarnock.
What You Will Do
The role of the Staff Nurse in HMP Kilmarnock is diverse. You will be involved in delivering safe, effective, person-centered care, and contributing to improving health outcomes for this vulnerable patient group by supporting patients with the management of long-term conditions, including palliative care, responding to medical emergencies, triaging minor illnesses/injuries, delivering health promotion advice, and administering medication.
You will work as part of an extensive multidisciplinary team within the Health Centre in HMP Kilmarnock, in partnership with General Practitioners, Mental Health, and Addiction Services.
Knowledge, Training, and Experience
You must demonstrate a commitment to caring for patients, many of whom have suffered significant trauma, within a secure environment. You should demonstrate current thinking in Primary and Emergency Care and be willing to respond positively to change. You should be innovative, enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
You will possess a Registered Adult Nurse qualification and be registered with the NMC. You need to be educated to a minimum of degree level or demonstrate relevant clinical experience.
