Fortius is seeking a highly organised and detail‑driven Clinical Audit and Research Officer to support our commitment to delivering excellent, evidence‑based patient care. This role is ideal for someone passionate about clinical quality, research, and continuous improvement, with the confidence to work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams across the organisation.
You will play a key part in ensuring that clinical audits, research activity and quality improvement initiatives are well‑designed, accurately reported and effectively communicated. Working closely with the Director, you will also contribute to research projects, producing high‑quality reports and academic materials to support publication, conferences and patient‑facing communications.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Provide support to staff across the organisation in developing, implementing, reviewing and reporting clinical audits.
2. Monitor audit action plans and work collaboratively with teams to ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.
3. Carry out clinical and non‑clinical audits with the support of the Director and/or clinicians, including routine monthly and quarterly audits as well as project‑specific audits.
4. Maintain and update the audit and research registers, ensuring all associated records are accurate, complete and kept up to date.
5. Assist with administrative tasks relating to research projects, including maintaining research files and documentation.
6. Participate in research studies under the guidance of the Director, including contacting patients to complete questionnaires and extracting clinical and demographic information from medical records.
7. Submit research articles and abstracts for publication and conferences on behalf of the Director, and prepare academic posters based on these submissions.
8. Produce well‑structured, clearly written research reports with support from the Director.
9. Translate research publications and findings into accessible, non‑clinical language suitable for patient‑facing materials, marketing campaigns and social media.
10. Provide administrative support to the Director for the Fellowship Programme.
11. Take responsibility for organising monthly MDT meetings and business meetings, including scheduling, agendas and documentation.
12. Adhere to all Fortius policies and procedures at all times.
13. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as required by the line manager.
Essential
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Clinical Research, Public Health, Psychology, Nursing or related discipline).
* Strong written English skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured reports.
Desirable
* Postgraduate training related to clinical audit, research, quality improvement or data analysis.
* Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification.
* Training in research governance or audit methodology.
