We are looking a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, who is qualifies or training towards a legal qualification.
Based in Leicester, LE3, the role assist in the provision of legal services to Child care, Children & Young Peoples Services and Schools.
DUTIES
* Supporting in preparing documents for court cases
* Liaising with healthcare professionals, police, probation and court
* Responding to legal requests for legal advice in relation to Child care law and practice
* Providing assistance and support to solicitors, including tang statements in relation to court, tribunal, disciplinary or other proceedings.
* Drafting letters, court applications and responses and statements
* Undertaking research in Child care Law as required
* Issuing invoices and following up where necessary
* Liaise with courts as to hearings and attendance
* Attending Child Protection case conferences
* Attending council meetings
* Filing and general administrative tasks within the Legal Services section
ABOUT YOU
* Hold or working towards a legal qualification
* Experience of working with and understanding legal documentation
* Ability to draft letters and reports to a high standard
* Experience or attending court and taking notes during hearings
* Knowledge of Child Care law and practice
* Experience of working in local government
* Ability to communicate effectively with all customer and stakeholders
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Ability to plana d prioritise workloads effectively
* MUST be computer literate - MS Word, Excel, Outlook and computerised management and mapping systems
* MUST be a driver with access to own vehicle

Due to the nature of the role some work outside of normal hours might ne required.
