The Operations Manager is a key role in the DVSA Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the national delivery of operational services to meet customer expectations.

The post holder will lead operational delivery teams of 250-300 staff through supporting managers. They will ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery, value for money, and operational efficiency, with a direct impact on road safety outcomes.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining effective operational processes, managing performance, and fostering talent development. The role also involves collaborating with the Policy & Service Heads to support business improvements and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Providing leadership, influence, and guidance to staff to support objectives, establishing a clear vision, and maintaining integrity and reputation.
* Leading vehicle testing operations across a network, ensuring quality and consistency.
* Ensuring network performance against standards, quality, and business targets.
* Maintaining effective communication and engagement with staff and management.
* Developing operational plans to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.
* Driving improvements based on QA and audits, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
* Collaborating with strategic partners to develop business plans and respond to changing priorities.
* Acting as a liaison for specific services, providing operational expertise and improvements.
* Coordinating with internal departments to meet customer needs and ensure clear communication.
