An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Delivery Manager within Thales Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME). This role will be on one of our significant development and production projects. The Engineering Delivery Manager will collaborate with Programme Managers, the Engineering Delivery Lead, the Head of Engineering Delivery, and the wider engineering team to ensure delivery of engineering development projects.
Responsibilities
* Lead high‑performing, multi‑discipline engineering teams to generate solutions that meet customer needs.
* Define the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile based on estimates to ensure project delivery.
* Manage interfaces with the overall delivery strategy for the wider programme.
* Define the organisation and work breakdown with the Programme Manager, required to deliver to customer needs.
* Be in charge of meeting cost, schedule and quality of the whole engineering delivery for the programme.
* Define engineering teams’ work packages in terms of resources, budgets, risks and assumptions, and timescales.
* Plan and prioritise activities to deliver the solution within contract schedule, costs and quality.
* Day‑to‑day manage engineering team activities, proactively managing issues, opportunities and risks.
* Manage and report engineering efficiency for the project.
* Identify re‑use opportunities across the project.
* Act as the People Manager for the engineering team on the project and provide feedback into the people manager reviews with functional discipline leads.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering with experience in defining and leading multi‑disciplinary delivery of engineering projects. They will be highly customer‑focused, communicate effectively, and thrive in a fast‑moving environment with multiple parallel objectives. Knowledge of naval, air or land products is beneficial. The candidate should understand the systems engineering life cycle, practices and tools.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, this role requires a British national from birth and achievement of Security Clearance (SC) without caveats. If SC clearance is not currently held, the successful applicant will need to obtain it prior to commencing employment.
