Position Summary:
The Service Operations Associate II plays a critical role for the daily processing of all service work that is completed by the Bike Service department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and improving our receiving, shipping, and inventory management operations. This key role ensures accurate inventory records, optimizes warehouse processes, and works cross-functionally with teams to enhance logistics. Your expertise will contribute to operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and adherence to company standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Shipping, Receiving: Service & OEM
* Receive all incoming service work, Inspect and document product condition upon receipt, noting any items essential for reinstallation.
* Package completed service products securely for outgoing shipment, ensuring all necessary documentation accompanies the package.
* Report any unusual occurrences with products to the Service Centre Manager.
* Notify the Service Centre Manager when supplies are needed.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by following all safety and departmental procedures.
* Ensure all shipments are processed and ready for packaging by the 3:00 pm cutoff time.
Parts & Inventory
* Open, inspect, and document the condition of incoming inventory products.
* Receive inventory into Oracle, following procedures for proper storage, distribution, and material handling.
* Manage inventory levels and plan for stock replenishment.
* Perform daily cycle counts (CC) and year-end physical inventory (PI) counts, adhering to accuracy targets set by finance.
* Pick and receive inter-warehouse transfer orders, reporting discrepancies to management.
* Pick and deliver warehouse parts to designated service locations.
* Ensure outgoing inventory shipments are properly packaged, with correct customs documentation included.
General Responsibilities
* Maintain professionalism with effective written and verbal communication.
* Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work area.
* Comply with company safety regulations.
* Advise Service Manager when supplies are needed to perform tasks, ahead of running out.
* Report any job-related issues that impact performance to the Service Manager.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* ERP and Oracle experience preferred.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to multitask with a positive attitude.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage last-minute requests to meet customer expectations.
* Capability to follow and execute detailed instructions from managers and team members.
Position Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum 2–3 years in a service operation, shipping/receiving, inventory control, or similar environment.
* Experience in stock control and inventory management.
* Knowledge of the bike industry, especially mountain bike components, is a plus.
* Forklift certification.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
* Office/Service Center environment.
* Ability to sit for extended periods.
* Vision required to validate and enter data into a computer.
* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly.
* Physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
