Due to continuing international growth ROVOP have an exciting opportunity for Crewing Manager to join our team, based in Westhill.
Role Description
Reporting to the Regional Managing Director – Europe & West Africa, you will lead the Crewing Team to ensure the company’s ROV fleet is manned with a constant supply of qualified skilled and competent offshore personnel to meet our global business demands. Supported by the Senior Crewing Coordinator(s), you will work closely with the Crewing, Recruitment and Operations teams, to manage all aspects of the offshore ROV crewing levels and associated offshore personnel recruitment as required
Applying a commercially focused approach to crew selection in line with project and client needs, you will ensure an effective balance between competency levels and cost efficiency. You will further ensure continuity of personnel across projects, vessels, and ROV systems where practicable, proactively identifying resource gaps and assisting with recruitment activities.
Key duties and responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
Crew Planning / Operational Management
* Actively lead manpower planning and strategy across the wider team
* Track and plan crew continuity for vessels, projects, and systems
* Supervise crew selection in line with ROVOP and client requirements to ensure a suitable blend of crew continuity, competency is maintained across all projects
* Identify gaps in personnel availability and assist the recruitment team to fulfil personnel shortfalls and expansion of offshore crews
* Optimise a network of directly and indirectly engaged personnel (Core Crew and Ad Hoc), ensuring the quality supply of ROV crews are available to meet business requirements globally
* Support the identification and development of new strategies to grow our offshore talent pool
* Supervision of crew travel provision ensuring costs are in line with project expectations.
Team Management
* Effectively manage and motivate the crewing team to deliver operational excellence on a global basis
* Actively support day to day crewing operations within the crewing team ensuring projects run efficiently and adequate support is maintained during out of office hours
* Responsible for the coaching, development, and training of the Crewing Team
* Conduct Annual appraisals with all team members, identifying high potentials for succession planning
Administration
* Oversee the administration and utilisation of the Onboard Tracker system to drive forecasting and reporting outputs in support of effective and efficient crew planning
* Define, improve and implement process improvements to drive operational efficiency globally
* Support improvements with all systems
* Support offshore personnel new start on boarding and offboarding processes
* Participate in the emergency response and on-call rotas
* Travel to global locations as and when required.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will bring a strong background in personnel crewing, with a proven ability to deliver in fast‑moving, high‑growth environments while working to tight deadlines. You will be a confident and effective people leader, with excellent communication and team management skills, and have practical experience using Solab Onboard Tracker.
Experience in ROV crewing is highly desirable, along with a recognised CIPD or REC qualification.
