Role: Lead Audio Engineer

Asthe Lead Audio Engineerat SIDE, you will be responsible forthesupervision of thetechnical staff, facilityequipmentand studio operations, helping to ensure thetimelycompletion of agreed deliverables and milestones, toa very highstandard. For an outsource companyit’sthe ‘high quality’ that brings back returning clients and keeps the awards coming.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
* Dailymanagementof staff,including project output, addressing issues, and resolving and escalating to senior managementwererequired.
* Review andapprove department hoursfor TA’s and Engineersensuring and highlighting any concerns to senior management.
* Work with the production team on setting up external studios for recordings, either locally orremotely.
* Organize andallocatejobs to staff through the work diary and ensure excellent communication between all departments.
* Liaise with clients about best technical practices for their session.
* Liaise with staff about best technical practices for their session.
* Be on standby to engineer studio and location sessions – from wild dialogue recording tolocation off-site recording.
* Help prepare studio sessions’ assets such as audio and video reference files and dialogue scripts.
* Helpmaintainstudios and studio equipment, including defining new tech needed.
* Develop studio services, processes, and workflow.
Management
* Work with theDirectors,Heads ofDepartment,and Managersto lead SIDE as the market leader in its field.
* Supervisionand development of thestudioteam, includingallocation of projects.
* Conduct regular 1to1’s to issue feedback on performance in relation toKPI andtasks undertaken.
* IdentifyRecruitment needs and management of resource planning.
* Track andmonitorstudiobudget andhighlightconcerns toseniormanagement.
* To work in collaboration with the otherheads andseniormanagement team to ensure best practices are kept.
Other
* Adhere to company Security, Confidentiality and Health and Safety procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
* Adhere to the company IT and HR procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
* Understand ethical behaviour and businesspractices andensure that own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organisation.
* Excellent client facing and internal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
* 5+ years’ experience in a commercial audio Postproduction role, ideally working for some time within studio,
* Experience working with across multiple projects and languages,
* The ability to strategize andallocateresources for upcoming projects.
* Experienced user of Pro Tools and other DAWs.
* Experienced with video workflows,tracklayingand ADR through VoiceQ.
* Experienced user of Audition,RXor other similar software.
* Experienced user ofMS Office,especially Excel.
