Central Oxford Are you an enthusiastic communications professional with a flair for engagement and organisation? Join the Academic Administration Division as a Communications Assistant, supporting the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Education Policy Support teams. You will help to raise awareness of their services and inspire excellence and inclusion in education policy and practice across the University. Working closely with the Senior Communications Manager, you will help plan and deliver a wide range of communications and engagement activity, supporting events, campaigns and stakeholder communications that drive uptake and impact. Based in University Offices, Wellington Square and Littlegate House, you will collaborate with colleagues and students across Oxford and contribute to the University’s Communications Community of Practice. Location: Central Oxford Salary: £32,108 - £37,338 per annum Contract: Full Time, Permanent About Us This is an exciting and varied role that plays an important part in ensuring effective communications in these two important areas of the Academic Administration Division (AAD). The AAD provides the support and information that Oxford students need to thrive in their academic and personal lives, and relies on effective communications to achieve its goals. The Communications Officer will contribute to the progress and success of the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Education Policy Support through effective communications – from websites and digital channel content to events and publications. About the Role The postholder will make a significant contribution to the AAD – creating compelling content about a wide range of topics; and engaging effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure effective flows of communications between the division and its audiences. Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager – Students and AAD, you will work with colleagues across the collegiate University – coordinating communications activities, and provide professional advice and support for colleagues. About You You will bring strong organisational skills and a practical understanding of processes, with the confidence to take responsibility for planning your own work and coordinating short-term projects linked to planning and reporting. You are comfortable interpreting policies and procedures, identifying improvements, and contributing to operational decisions that support staff and students effectively. An effective communicator, you adapt your style to different audiences and produce clear, accurate content across print and digital channels. You have experience drafting and proofreading copy, maintaining websites, scheduling content, and using digital analytics or feedback tools to evaluate impact. You build productive working relationships with colleagues and external partners, act as a reliable point of contact for enquiries, and work collaboratively to ensure communications meet accessibility and brand standards.
