Our client in the public sector in West Northamptonshire area is seeking a Housing Allocations Officer with extensive expertise in housing allocations scheme.
Location One Angel Square, Northampton
Hybrid role, with 3 days office based and expectation to work from various office locations-Northampton, Towcester & Daventry
Duration of assignment: 13 weeks with potential extension
Working hours: Monday to Friday – 37 hours
Rate: £25 per hour Umbrella / £19.23 per hour PAYE
IR35 status: Inside IR35

Job description:
• Training to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of the council’s new housing allocations scheme.
• Training to develop good understanding and ability to use the new housing allocations ICT solution – Open Housing (Capita).
• User acceptance training tasks and test drills to test the new system and identify any faults for resolution.
• Receiving applications to the Council’s housing register and assessing these against the new scheme to determine if applicants are eligible & qualify. to join the housing register and if they do what priority band they fit in.
• Completing direct lets – matching applicants with available properties directly for a period of time while the new ICT is tested and launched.
• Running shortlists once the new scheme and choice based lettings module is up & running to match highest priority applicants to the available. property
• Uploading advert details of available properties – if necessary
The majority of the work will be assessing housing applications as all housing applicants are to re-apply so they can be assessed under the new scheme and inputted with clean data into the new ICT system.
Requirements
GCSE Maths and English A-C or equivalent Competent in the use of I.T packages, including word, excel and outlook Ability to work within a team. Able to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage own casework • Able to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage own casework
