Position: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Blandford Forum
Hours: Full-time (8.30am – 3.30pm)
Start Date: ASAP / September
The School & Role
An Alternative Provision school based in Blandford Forum is currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to start from September. The school caters for primary and secondary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as challenging behaviour. The successful SEMH Behaviour Mentor will work 1-1 or in small classes, assisting pupils academically, overcoming barriers to learning, and supporting them emotionally.
What You’ll Do
* Support students with autism in classroom and extracurricular activities
* Implement individualised support plans and strategies
* Promote positive behaviour and social interaction
* Assist with communication and sensory needs
* Build trusting relationships with students to encourage independence and confidence
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children in an educational setting
* Experience with pupils with SEND/SEMH/challenging behaviour
* A passion for student progress
* Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment
* Ability to work as part of a team
