This is an exciting opportunity to join the Active Recovery as a Clinical Lead. The team consists of experienced Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and therefore we welcome applicants from these disciplines.
The role broadly consists of providing leadership to a large team of Generic Assessors, Senior Generic Healthcare Coordinators and Advanced Clinical Support Workers, operational responsibility for coordinating referrals, assessments and allocation of work, ensuring clinical excellence within the service.
Active Recovery is continually evolving and interfacing with external organisations, such as Sheffield City Council, to provide the residents of Sheffield with a first class service within Health and Social Care. Clinical Leads have been and will continue to be involved with project work and workshops to ensure change is driven forward.
Main duties of the job
To assist the Operational Lead in the planning and delivery of high quality and effective community Intermediate Care services.
To provide high level clinical expertise in a designated specialism and take responsibility for the dissemination of evidence based practice across the service.
To manage a caseload of patients, with complex needs using specialist skills and evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
To provide professional leadership to a designated staff team including recruitment, supervision and development of these staff within the multidisciplinary context.
To provide specialist input to planning, development and evaluation of services within Active Recover, holding responsibility for defined projects.
To provide clinical leadership and management to a designated interdisciplinary staff group to deliver a high quality and effective service.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Nurse/Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Degree or equivalent.
2. First Level Registered Nurse/Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist.
3. Current NMC/HCPC registration as a Nurse, PT or OT.
4. Demonstrate evidence of continuous Professional Development via personal development plans/file.
Desirable criteria
5. First line management / Leadership course.
6. Non-Medical Prescribing
7. Advanced Practice
8. Relevant validated clinical courses to Masters level or equivalent knowledge / experience
9. Training from Higher Education Institution for graduate student supervision.
Attributes
Essential criteria
10. Due to the requirement to undertake visits and transport non-portable equipment, the post holder is required to be either a car driver with a valid driving licence, or have access to an alternative means of transport.
11. Willingness to work flexibly including working outside of traditional normal working hours in accordance with service need.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
12. Expert knowledge of nursing in a relevant clinical specialty (e.g. Long term neurological conditions, cardio vascular, falls, and multi pathologies affecting older people) ability to apply this in community setting
13. Expert knowledge of a broad range of conditions both acute and deteriorating, affecting client group in the recovery and reablement pathway and their therapeutic management.
Desirable criteria
14. A working knowledge of the needs of patients with mental health issues.
15. An understanding of Public Health - health promotion/health education
Experience
Essential criteria
16. Extensive post graduate experience of nursing care/therapy input and rehabilitation at senior level.
17. Experience of working in the community with older adults and carrying out complex health and social care assessments.
18. Experience of supervising / managing / developing junior staff through PDR and teaching.
19. Experience of proactive involvement in service development and change management.
20. Experience of involvement in audit.
Desirable criteria
21. Previous experience at Specialist Band 6 level
22. Previous experience of managing change
23. Previous experience of setting up/redesigning a new/ established service
24. Involvement in research
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
25. Ability to resolve professional and ethical issues.
26. Organisational skills to manage a team and contribute to effective service delivery.
27. IT skills to use electronic systems for recording clinical records and other Microsoft packages e.g. Word, PowerPoint.
28. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders across the patient pathway.
29. To have developed coping strategies to deal with the emotional nature and demands of the work.
