The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is looking for a Technical Estates Officer (Operations) who is dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated. The successful applicant will be part of a modernising Estates team and will play a key role in implementing service delivery improvements.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be reporting directly to the department manager, with specific objectives and responsibilities for high‑level maintenance operations. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of technical services including door access, BEMS & EMS systems, and a broad knowledge of health‑care estates installation, breakdowns and maintenance procedures. You will be performance‑driven and passionate about delivering an efficient, first‑class service across the estate.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The post holder will demonstrate high‑level technical and legislative engineering/maintenance knowledge, be able to resolve and repair complex engineering issues, and lead your team to ensure Trust values are managed and estates KPIs are met. The role requires a full‑time commitment across all Trust properties, a current valid driving licence, and an on‑call rota covering all aspects of building construction and maintenance.
Person Specification
* Specialist professional mechanical/electrical engineering knowledge acquired through an HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline and a degree‑level qualification or equivalent specialist knowledge.
* Post‑apprenticeship training and experience, with a high‑level working knowledge of engineering and operational management across a broad range of activities.
* AP certificates such as MGPS, HV/LV, Decontamination, Ventilation, Water, etc.
* Management and supervision experience of a maintenance team, with demonstrated commitment to commercial or industrial building services engineering environments.
* Highly developed physical skills in the use of hand tools and diagnostic test equipment, with excellent manual dexterity.
