As a Huntington's Disease Specialist Nurse with Exemplar Health Care, you will act in a proactive manner to support our homes to provide and our care via a systematic, coordinated and coaching approach. No two days will ever be the same, but your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the implementation of new initiatives to improve people’s quality of life.
* Developing effective working practices.
* Establishing a complete understanding of the needs of the people in our homes who have a HD primary diagnosis (e.g., secondary diagnoses, complex care and risk requirements).
* Tailoring colleague training requirements to meet the needs of people in a person‑centred way and supporting the delivery of this training.
* Developing and embedding an HD Champion role, and supporting these Champions to link directly with their local HD networks.
* Working with the Operational Team (Clinical Nurse Managers / Registered Nurses and HD Champions) to offer support and coaching.
* Assisting with the development of quality policies and procedures, audit materials and Service User, Colleague and Relative information materials.

Qualifications & Requirements
* A first‑level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN.
* A minimum of two years’ experience in a specialist nurse role with extensive experience and knowledge of Huntington’s Disease.
* Evidence of further professional development in relation to care, management or quality.
* Ability to coach and motivate others.
* A strong background in action planning.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A pragmatic approach, with strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, and the ability to apply these in complex situations.
* The ability to work collaboratively with, and travel to all locations across the business.
