The opportunity
Are you detail-oriented with a passion for maintaining high standards in financial advice? Join our dynamic team as a Mortgage and Protection Business Assessor, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of mortgage and protection recommendations made by our Openwork advisers. In this role, you’ll assess cases submitted by Openwork advisers across the Partnership, providing constructive feedback and guidance to maintain our reputation for delivering outstanding client outcomes. You’ll also help identify trends, support best practice, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Contract details: 12 month fixed term contract, based 2 days a week in our Swindon office.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Review mortgage and protection cases to assess advice quality and compliance with the Openwork sales process.
* Conduct and record case assessments accurately and fairly.
* Identify errors or discrepancies in advice, escalating as necessary.
* Provide clear feedback to advisers to maintain high standards.
* Report potential breaches and take ownership of difficult decisions.
* Meet advice check and peer review targets, along with other SLAs.
* Build relationships with key contacts internally and externally, offering advice and guidance.
* Collaborate with Operations, Distribution, and Compliance teams to improve advice quality.
* Support team members and advisers to enhance advice quality.
* Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
What you will need to succeed:
* Experience in mortgage and protection advice or compliance/quality assurance in financial services.
* Business assessment experience.
* Relevant qualifications (CeMAP or equivalent) preferred.
* Strong understanding of FCA regulations and TCF principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
* Impartial judgment and consistency.
* Problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
* Time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Collaborative mindset and desire to develop others.
* Customer-focused approach, capable of handling challenging situations.
