Offer description

Join Our Team as a Support Worker!

This position does not meet the requirements for sponsorship under current UK immigration guidelines.

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in people's lives? Do you have a caring nature and a desire for a fresh challenge? If you answered a resounding YES, we want to hear from you!

At Turning Point, we support individuals with Learning Disabilities across England. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing residents' daily living skills. You'll not only make a difference in their lives but also have the opportunity to grow and develop your own career with us.

Where will I be working?

You'll be part of a registered care unit, RT, which boasts a warm, family-like atmosphere. Here, we support five individuals aged 20 to 60 with profound Learning Disabilities. While they may be non-verbal, they are fully mobile and active, requiring varying levels of personal care and one-on-one support.

Getting to us is easy! Whether you travel by public transport or car, we are conveniently located. For example, from Coventry rail station, it takes about 1 hour by train, 1 hour 20 minutes by bus, and just 23 minutes by car (traffic permitting).

We utilize a digital social care record system to streamline daily tasks, allowing you to spend more quality time with the people you support.

Shift Patterns

This is a 24-hour service, so flexibility is key! You will work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, waking nights, sleep-ins, and some weekends.

Your Role and Responsibilities

What will I be doing?

This hands-on role is dynamic and rewarding. Your responsibilities will include:

* Promoting the independence of the individuals we support
* Assisting with daily activities such as cleaning, cooking, and outings
* Organizing engaging activities both at home and in the community
* Helping residents develop life skills and personal interests
* Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
* Providing personal care as needed
* Conducting manual handling tasks
* Supporting medication management
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

What skills and qualities do I need?

While experience with learning disabilities is a plus, it’s not essential. What truly matters is that you are:

* Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic
* Flexible, patient, and non-judgmental
* A great team player with plenty of energy
* Effective in communication
* Capable of handling the physical aspects of the role
* Experienced in helping others manage anxiety
