Transport Manager
Microsearch Laboratories Ltd is a leading national food testing laboratory, based in Mytholmroyd in the heart of the picturesque Calder Valley. With four sites across the UK, we play a vital role in supporting the food industry.
We now have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Transport Manager to join our senior management team. This role has become available due to the upcoming retirement of our long-standing Transport Manager, who has played a key part in building and shaping our operation. As Transport Manager, you'll oversee the full day to day running of our transport operation:
* Overseeing a team of 37 drivers full time and relief.
* Managing a fleet of 28 refrigerated light goods vehicles.
* Coordinating 21 daily national routes and liaison with external logistics partners
* Ensuring compliance, Safety, vehicle maintenance and operational efficiency
* Delivering an excellent customer experience.
Food samples are collected daily from our regular client base of food production manufactures and delivered back to our IFP Laboratory Testing Network sites.
We're looking for:
* Experience in transport or logistics management
* Strong knowledge of the UK road network
* Confidence with updating transport management systems
* Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills
* A proactive individual with drive to learn our business inside out
You'll be primarily based at our Brearley site in Mytholmroyd, with the requirements to drive from time to time, travel to other UK locations if needed. A company phone is provided, and you'll be part of the on-call rota (2 weekends in 4, plus occasional out of hours to cover any emergencies).

Salary:
Core – weekly hours in4 weekends on call (remote phone/email).
Annual Pay £35,300 – £41,500 Negotiable based on experience.
