Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Service Manager, primarily based in Newton Heath, Manchester. The Service Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of supported living services, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with regulations. This role will allow the right person to really make their mark on our organisation, as the successful candidate will not only have the opportunity to support our goal of growing our new Manchester service, but also help shape how we achieve this. Skills and Abilities Required
• Experience as a Service Manager in a similar organisation, or at least two years' experience as a Deputy Manager.
• Strong experience in team management, staff supervision and leadership within the health or social care sector.
• Excellent knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act.
• Strong understanding of CQC standards, regulatory compliance and supported living requirements.
• Knowledge and practical understanding of autism, ADHD, mental health challenges, learning disabilities and behaviours of concern, including self-harm.
• Proven ability to complete, review and monitor care plans and risk assessments.
• Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals we support, colleagues, families, managers and external professionals.
• Effective conflict resolution skills and a commitment to delivering respectful, person-centred and high-quality support.
• Ability to manage budgets, organise resources efficiently and meet service objectives.
• Empathy, patience and a person-focused approach to enhance service quality.
• Proficiency in administrative and IT tasks, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care or Leadership (such as the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care), or willingness to work towards this qualification.
• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
