Deputy Shop Manager - Sheffield
Full-Time | 30-42 Hours per Week
The Best Connection is recruiting on behalf of our client for an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Shop Manager to join a successful retail food business with multiple locations across Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with retail, hospitality, or food service experience who is looking to develop their management career within a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
The Role
As a Deputy Shop Manager, you will be primarily based at one Sheffield location while providing support and cover across other sites as required. Working closely with Shop Managers and their teams, you will help ensure each shop operates efficiently, maintains high standards, and delivers exceptional customer service.
This varied role offers the opportunity to gain experience across multiple locations, develop leadership skills, and progress within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the day-to-day running of retail food outlets.
* Provide management and supervisory cover during holidays, absences, and busy periods.
* Lead, motivate, and support team members.
* Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
* Assist with food preparation and serving customers.
* Prepare hot and cold food products and barista-style drinks.
* Ensure high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation.
* Support stock control, ordering, and waste management.
* Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
* Complete daily operational checks and records.
* Open and close shops when required.
* Work closely with management to support sales and operational performance.
Hours of Work
* Full-time position.
* Between 30 and 42 hours per week.
* Regular Saturday working required.
* No evening shifts - shops close by 4:00pm.
* No Sunday working.
* Closed on Bank Holidays (excluding Good Friday).
* Flexibility required to work across multiple Sheffield locations when needed.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in retail, hospitality, catering, or food service.
* Supervisory or team leader experience would be advantageous.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* A positive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to work across different locations and varying shift patterns.
* Full UK driving licence and access to transport is preferred.
