Are you an organised and detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for precision and collaboration? We're looking for a Finance Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in supporting grant claim processes and financial reporting.
ABOUT THE COMPANY AND THE ROLE
The Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) and Zenzic are at the forefront of transforming the UK's automotive innovation landscape.
As a Finance Coordinator, you will work closely with our Finance Business Partner (FBP) to manage all aspects of grant claim submissions. You'll ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and liaise with both internal teams and external government departments. This role is also central to supporting the finance team's daily coordination activities and maintaining strong internal controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Be the first point of contact for all grant-related finance queries, escalating where needed
* Liaise with government departments and internal teams to ensure compliance and timely grant submissions
* Prepare and submit claims in line with guidelines and deadlines
* Provide supporting documentation and respond to financial queries promptly
* Maintain accurate audit trails, financial records, and reconciliations for submitted claims
* Monitor payment status of claims and follow up on outstanding issues
* Ensure reported costs are compliant with grant conditions and internal policies
* Support external audits by preparing documentation and providing clear explanations
* Collaborate with the finance team to gather data and assist with month- and year-end close processes
* Help manage the finance/accounts inbox and ensure data confidentiality is upheld
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
* Strong financial administration and reporting skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
* Clear communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
* Proficiency in Excel and financial management systems
* A collaborative mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Desirable:
* AAT-qualified or qualified by experience (QBE), especially within public sector or grant-funded finance
* Experience dealing with government departments or within grant administration
* Familiarity with the Sage finance system
