SEMH Teaching Assistant - Sheffield Pay: £444 - £524 per week Start date: September 2025 - Ongoing £125 refer a friend / colleague bonus scheme Vision for Education are actively seeking to recruit for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who has existing experience within an SEMH environment, to work in a fantastic school in the Sheffield (S2) area working with KS1 / KS2 students. The role This excellent opportunity would be ideal for someone who is seeking a teaching assistant role in that specialises in working with students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Due to needs of the students that attend this school, this role can be challenging but is also very rewarding. The ideal person would be someone who has a nurturing yet resilient approach within the classroom, it is essential that you have previous experience in this area. Requirements To be considered for the position of Teaching Assistant (SEMH), you will: At least 3 months experience in a SEMH or PRU setting Ideally have your team teach level 2 training or be willing to complete our course Hold an enhanced child and adult workforce DBS which is registered to the update service is highly beneficial – Vision can assist with obtaining this if required Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of specialist teachers Have a passion for supporting students and teachers, with the ability to work in small groups and on a 121 basis What we offer Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
