Job Description Summary A great opportunity has arisen for a Technical Services Engineer within the Technical Services Department at BD in Crawley. After you have completed product training you will be required to service and repair a wide range of Medical Equipment including electro/Mechanical products in house and in the field, as well as provide technical support to customers and sales teams within a busy Technical Services Department. Become a maker of possible with us Main responsibilities will include: Engineers are responsible for specific project engineering tasks as laid down by the Technical Services Management or Senior Engineers: - Ensuring document control policy is followed in accordance with the Quality Assurance manual and Master Control Document Management system - Maintenance of database efficiency, including the accuracy of information being inputted into the BDI Technical Services department database and ServiceMax - Where required the supervising of other Engineers or Trainee Engineers quality of work and practices in accordance with manufacturing procedures - Performing test (excluding final QC inspection of their own work), calibration and repair of in-house equipment in accordance with documented procedures and processes - Ensuring field maintenance visits are scheduled and carried out promptly in accordance with contractual obligations - The ad hoc training of BDI appointed dealer engineers as required - Dealing with customer general technical enquiries - Ensuring adequate Stock Levels of product spare parts and materials are maintained - Ensuring Test Equipment is accurately used, maintained and protected from damage. Workshop Storage of stock is properly maintained and controlled, Cleanliness of all engineering working areas is maintained - Where required providing monthly reports to Chief Engineer or Assistant/Technical Manger outlining performance against KPI's set by the BDI Technical Services management or Senior Engineer - Reporting any quality issues to the Quality Administrator and Quality Business Partner - Shall promptly report any disruptions or events impacting the engineering output, such as material supply chain, defective test equipment or tools requests for additional training etc - Shall ensure any customer complaints reported to them or staff set below them are recorded in the customer complaint file and actioned in accordance with the complaint handling procedure, assisting where necessary to remedy the same - May perform other duties as required About you Education and Experience: BTEC ONC (HNC preferred) in either Electronic/Mechanical /Electrical engineering, Knowledge and Skills: - Capable of effectively diagnosing and repairing to component level at least 2 Bard major equipment product lines - Able to liaise with customers effectively to resolve problems - Able to manage spare parts stocking levels - Capable of working to deadlines and performance targets - Routinely achieves 50% or more of PMP goals - Open to learning new insights, technology and ways of working. - Strives for continuous improvement Click on apply if this sounds like you Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
