The Role
As Head of Privacy & Data Protection, you will have full accountability for DAZN's global Data Privacy and Data Protection programme. You will act as a trusted expert and advisor to the Board, senior leadership and the wider business, ensuring DAZN meets its global regulatory obligations while enabling innovation and growth.
This role is pivotal in driving behavioural change across the organisation — educating teams, embedding privacy by design, and ensuring data protection is a core part of DAZN's culture and operating model.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Lead and own DAZN's global data privacy and data protection strategy, roadmap and ways of working
* Provide expert advice on privacy and data protection matters across all jurisdictions in which DAZN operates
* Advise on national and international privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, DPA 2018 and ePrivacy legislation
* Support the Data Protection Officer, Board and senior leadership with clear, pragmatic guidance on privacy risks and challenges
* Monitor regulatory developments, enforcement actions and guidance from supervisory authorities, translating these into actionable plans
* Conduct gap analyses and develop action plans to support compliance with new and evolving privacy regulations globally
* Draft, review and negotiate data protection clauses in commercial agreements with clients, partners and vendors, including international data transfers
* Lead the response to data subject access requests, data incidents and personal data breaches
* Implement and enforce effective privacy policies, procedures and controls across the organisation
* Work closely with engineering, product, cloud and data teams to embed privacy by design into platforms, data lakes and multi-region cloud environments
* Train and educate key stakeholders across DAZN on data protection requirements and internal policies
* Liaise with supervisory authorities and manage regulatory inquiries, complaints and investigations
What You'll Bring:
* Extensive experience leading data privacy and data protection programmes in a global, fast-paced organisation
* Expert knowledge of GDPR, DPA 2018 and a strong understanding of other major global privacy frameworks
* Proven experience advising senior leadership and Boards on complex privacy and regulatory matters
* Strong understanding of privacy by design principles and their application in digital products and platforms
* Experience working with multi-region cloud environments and large-scale data architectures
* A track record of managing data incidents, breaches and regulatory engagement
* Sound judgement and the ability to assess and balance data privacy risk in a commercial context
* Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to drive strategic improvements across policies, processes and controls
* Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CIPP/E, or equivalent)
