My Client, part of a global Engineering and Fabrication organisation, is looking for a qualified CAD Draughtsperson for their Burton on Trent facility. Candidates must have a good 8 to 10 years background in Engineering using CAD design.
Job description
The CAD operator must have a good working knowledge of CAD systems, including Autodesk, Inventor, Revit, BIM, and SolidWorks, to create drawings and plans that facilitate the fabrication of steel products and other designs prior to manufacturing. The products manufactured are large steel fabrications, not small batch products.
CAD Technician Job Overview
1. Understand quotations and written instructions from clients, designers, and engineers before beginning a CAD drawing.
2. Create basic layouts of products based on client instructions and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers or clients.
3. Occasionally visit sites to collect data for drawings.
4. Consult with engineers to understand their instructions and support queries. Review engineering data to ensure compliance with original design plans.
5. Modify existing drawings and meet all deadlines. Store drawings electronically and program drawings into schedules for priority.
6. Perform office-related duties as required.
CAD Technician Job Requirements
1. Must be inclined towards Steel Fabrications. Excellent communication skills and superior computer skills are required. Good math skills and proven experience with CAD software, including Autodesk or others.
2. If necessary, able to travel to various sites to gather data and consult with contractors and clients regarding design or other related work involving CAD drawings. Ability to work under pressure, especially with tight deadlines.
