We are recruiting Temporary Trials Technicians to join our Seed Handling Unit and Regional Trials teams. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in agricultural field crops and plot trials while building valuable professional skills in teamwork, time management and practical problem solving. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Trials Technician, you will support a range of activities including: • Sampling, treating and packeting seed • Assisting with field-based tasks across our trial sites • Following established protocols to ensure accurate and reliable results The work can be physically demanding (lifting up to 25kg) and will involve spending time indoors and outdoors, so you will need to be comfortable with hands on, practical tasks in varying weather conditions, with unsociable hours over the season, depending on the workloads. Location The role is based at Niab, Cambridge, CB3 0LF, 2 miles from Cambridge city centre. Free on-site parking and linked by cycle ways and regular buses to Cambridge city centre and railway station. Easy access to M11, A14, A10 and A11. Some work at off-site trial locations may be required. ABOUT YOU We are looking for individuals who may have an interest in agriculture and plant sciences and are keen to learn, have a good eye for detail, and can follow strict protocols with consistency. Successful candidates will demonstrate clear and confident verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A driving licence or access to independent means of transport is desirable.
