Overview

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in East Yorkshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND and other needs such as SEMH. We support children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in East Yorkshire.

At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.

This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work 1:1 with children and young people with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Young people referred by local authorities and schools will require support in educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


Tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver holistic, engaging sessions meeting student needs and advancing educational and social-emotional development
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback


Requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLs)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or other needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance with cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK right to work (including remote/online assignments)
* Ability to work in a way that promotes health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies


Employment status

* Engagement as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service and PAYE payment
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
