Cogent Energy is seeking a Head Electrician to lead our electrical division. We aren't just installing chargers; we are building the backbone of the UK’s sustainable future. This is a senior-tier leadership role for a professional who commands excellence in high-voltage infrastructure and large-scale EV deployment and management.
The Role
As the Head of Electrical Infrastructure, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering designs and on-site execution. You will hold the technical authority for the division, ensuring every project—from GRP cabinet builds to three-phase distribution—is delivered to an elite standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Division Leadership: Spearhead all electrical aspects of large-scale AC & DC infrastructure projects.
* Technical Authority: Act as the lead for NERS-accredited works, ensuring compliance with Independent Connection Provider (ICP) standards.
* Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee GRP cabinet builds, cable containment strategy, and complex distribution board configurations.
* CAD & Planning: Interpret and refine CAD drawings and site plans with surgical precision.
* Mentorship: Lead, audit, and inspire a national team of electricians, subcontractors, and apprentices.
* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Project Managers and Tier-1 clients to ensure seamless delivery of multi-site rollouts.
What You Bring to the Table
This role requires a rare blend of \"boots on the ground\" expertise and executive-level oversight.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Accreditation: Must have NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) accreditation/experience.
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation & 18th Edition (latest amendments).
* Testing: City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection).
* Leadership: Proven track record managing large-scale commercial sites or multi-disciplinary teams.
* Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of CAD, three-phase systems, and GRP configurations.
The \"Cogent\" Edge (Desirable):
* EV Expert: City & Guilds 2919 (EVSE) and extensive experience in DC fast-charging hubs.
* Commercial Acumen: Ability to drive efficiency and hit KPIs to trigger the £100k+ OTE bonus structure.
