Technical writer for design system (London)
Focus: Documentation and educational content for our Salt design system.
Eight or more years’ full-time writing/editing experience required.
As a technical writer, you’ll support the evolution of the. Morgan’s Salt Design System. Collaborating with designers, developers, information architects, product owners and content strategists, you’ll create documentation that drives ease of implementation by following our guidelines for style, voice and tone.
Salt design system
Salt is an open-source solution for building exceptional products and digital experiences in financial services and other industries. It offers well-documented, accessible components as well as comprehensive design templates, style libraries and assets.
Salt is the next-generation version of the established design system, which has been used to build over 1,200 websites and applications.
Salt will be the vehicle for the digital delivery of a universal design language—with best-in-class business patterns, content and accessibility guides—plus tooling and adoption resources.

Salt team
Our mission is to design and develop a world-class design language and component library. It will enable the firm and clients to rapidly develop global digital experiences that are consistent, demonstrate strong brand identity, and span multiple products and delivery channels.
The work
Responsibilities include:
1. Editing and rewriting documentation for Salt offerings, including design components and patterns.
2. Writing, editing and rewriting foundational education covering design, content, accessibility, etc.
3. Distilling technical information for a broad audience.
4. Evaluating and auditing existing content.
5. Striving for consistency in presentation and depth of detail.
6. Working closely with stakeholders to improve content.
7. Providing insights for improving the content experience.
8. Contributing improvements to the content guidelines.
9. Participating in discussions about the UI Toolkit user experience.
Essential writing experience/understanding:
10. Digital documentation editing/writing.
11. Brand and stylebook guidelines.
12. Content from many contributors edited with a consistent voice and tone.
Essential UX experience/technical understanding:
13. Digital user experience.
14. Technical concepts (., design component functionality), and how to communicate them to a variety of audiences.
Preferred experience:
