ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Business Assurance group of Intertek provides a full range of business process audit and support solutions, including accredited third-party management systems auditing and certification, second-party supplier auditing, sustainability data verification, process performance analysis, and IRCA-registered auditor training. BA helps clients by sharing best practices and new industry requirements and assessing their performance against their own objectives.
ABOUT YOU
As a Head of Field Operations, the primary focus of the role is to lead all field-based operations across four audit teams, encompassing Management Systems, Food, Supplier Management, and Retail.
Required skills and experience
1. At least 10 years combined experience in relevant work environment
2. Design, implementation and continual improvement of a range of audit schemes; system assessments and certifications, standards
3. Knowledgeable in management system principles, Food certification, and product auditing
4. Highly experienced in Supplier Management schemes and their operation
5. Hands-on experience in process-based business operations
6. Willingness to travel for training and alignment with Intertek processes
7. Strong organizational skills, leadership ability, and influence beyond direct reports
8. Demonstrate unquestionable ethics, integrity, and understanding of budgets/P&L
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office and widely used software tools
10. Excellent written and oral communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
11. Familiarity with multi-site operations, confident working with peers and senior management
12. Degree or equivalent (beneficial)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Head of Field Operations, you will directly report to the Business Line Leader.
Key activities:
1. Lead and oversee four field-based audit teams, providing guidance and feedback on technical and interpersonal capabilities
2. Collaborate with Business Development and Client Services for resource planning, engage auditing teams for financial KPIs, and manage auditor utilization and costs
3. Forecast revenue and expenses, oversee all auditor competencies, and suggest improvements for efficiency
4. Identify growth opportunities, scope the market for business areas, and resolve escalated customer issues for continual quality improvement
5. Work with Global Technical Management & Quality team for local quality delivery, training, and improvement
6. Manage the auditor career and investment program for talent attraction and retention, ensuring compliance with basic people management requirements
7. Collaborate with BA Innovation team for implementing new schemes and delivering superior customer service
Home - based. Traveling to clients across the UK and office locations in Milton Keynes and Derby as needed. Full Time. Permanent.
