Customer Delivery Driver - Southampton Superstore

Overview
Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver. You will deliver to customers in their homes and help with their orders with a friendly, professional approach. This role is hands-on, physical, and varied, with support from managers and colleagues back at base.
Responsibilities
* Deliver parts of customers’ shopping trips by ensuring vans and trays are clean, tidy and organised.
* Keep the back yard clean, tidy and free of rubbish; pick up litter as seen.
* Wash trays as part of the tray wash process and check van roadworthiness; load as required.
* Communicate with customers about changes to orders, subs, and refunds where necessary.
* Handle products with care and deliver within agreed time slots; contact the customer if arriving early or late and inform the store if delays exceed 30 minutes.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support a customer-focused store.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues; understand customer needs and express appreciation.
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and adapt to store changes.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations; balance home and work life.
* Share ideas with management on store improvements.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
Availability and hours
Minimum guaranteed hours: 16 per week, with options for a minimum of 12 hours if requested. Availability windows are set for the week; contracted hours are scheduled with 3 weeks’ notice. Flexible working is supported where possible.
Pay and benefits
* Pay starts from £13.35 per hour; rises to £14.56 per hour for stores inside the M25; additional payments may apply by location.
* Holiday allowance starting at 20 days plus a personal day (rising to 22 days after 12 months), plus Bank Holidays.
