Early Years Group Leader - Summer - Cobham, Surrey
Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: £421.52 - £628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued based on 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

EARLY YEARS GROUP LEADER DUTIES
1. Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
2. Assist with setting up and maintaining an inviting, tidy base room with all equipment stored appropriately.
3. Follow policies and procedures to ensure children’s safety and enjoyment.
4. Adhere to the activity timetable to deliver a variety of sessions as promised.
5. Collaborate with other staff to deliver sessions.
6. Act as the children's Key Worker, managing communication about their experiences.
7. Ensure children’s needs are met through active supervision, including during breaks and lunch.
8. Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities with enthusiasm and structure.
9. Encourage maximum participation while following OFSTED guidance.
10. Get to know each child's interests and incorporate them into activities.
11. Take responsibility for welfare and safeguarding.
12. Ensure the safe use of equipment.
13. Facilitate children’s development through Explore and Play sessions.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
2. Knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
3. Aged 18 or over by the contract start date.
4. Eligible to work in the UK.
5. Provide satisfactory references.
6. Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
7. Ability to adapt to challenges in a childcare setting.
8. Obtain an enhanced DBS check or have an existing one on the Update Service.
9. Attend a Virtual Assessment if new to Barracudas.
10. Complete annual Online Training.
11. Attend Induction Training before camp opens.
12. Assist with camp pack-up at the end.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow health and safety instructions diligently.
2. Organize activities suitable for children’s qualifications and skills.
3. Encourage participation in new activities as per the timetable.
4. Maintain children’s safety, respect, and communication about behavior.
5. Follow camp systems, including registration, collection, and safety procedures.
6. Promote a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene.
7. Report child protection concerns to senior staff or designated persons.
8. Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
9. Support Skills Builder sessions if staff availability permits.
10. Support swimming sessions (bring swimwear; spare T-shirt provided).
11. Perform other duties as required by the role and organizational needs.
