Job Description
The Buying Assistant provides essential administrative support to our Buying teams. They assist Buyers and Assistant Buyers in developing and selecting exciting fashion ranges that appeal to our 20-something customer base. They work collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of the department, supporting sample management, updating the critical path, and raising orders in line with supplier and brand deadlines.
The Buying team plays a key role in making ASOS a leader in fashion and trendsetting across womenswear and menswear. Within our Own Brand division, including ASOS Design, ASOS White, and Collusion, our teams focus on creating innovative ranges that meet customer needs. Buyers collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, Marketing, and Garment Technology, maintaining relationships with a diverse supplier base to deliver the best products. Our Branded Buying teams curate and source from major brands, high-end designers, and emerging labels to bring the latest trends and a point of difference to the global market.
The Details
* Maintain the Critical Path and communicate with suppliers to meet key trading calendar dates.
* Manage and track a high volume of samples through various stages including fit sessions, development, shoots, and sign-off meetings.
* Accurately raise purchase orders in line with supplier deadlines and manage them throughout the product lifecycle.
* Collaborate daily with Merchandising, Design, Production, Technical, Marketing, and Suppliers.
* Provide efficient administrative support to ensure smooth operations and up-to-date reports and files.
* Assist in product development aligned with customer focus and business strategy, considering commercial aspects, costing, and innovation.
* Conduct competitor shop analyses to identify opportunities and present ideas to the team.
* Attend relevant training to support your development.

* Has excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in pricing, shipment dates, and product attributes.
* Can build strong professional relationships.
* Is confident using MS Office and eager to learn new systems.
