Marshalls is seeking a Group Estate & Minerals Manager to join the Group Property department.

So, What’s the mission?
You will provide ongoing support to operations within the Minerals Division and the wider estate. The role will focus on progressing strategically important projects through the planning consent process and enabling mineral development opportunities through leasehold and freehold acquisition and negotiation.


In addition, you will undertake commercial property work within our Industrial and Commercial portfolio to support the Group Property Director. This includes assuming professional ownership of a broad range of matters such as leasehold and freehold negotiations, due diligence exercises, planning and environmental permit applications, and asset management initiatives, in varying capacities as landlord, tenant, and owner/occupier.

* Leasehold / Freehold negotiations – ownership of the process from start to finish i.e from producing heads of terms to transaction completion
* Management of planning application submissions
* Providing ongoing property support / advice to operational management team to shape property strategy
* Principal point of contact for Planning Authorities and Environment Agency
* Ensure compliance with planning permissions
* Ensure compliance with environmental permit (in absence of an Environmental Manager)
* Ensure compliance with lease covenants (where Marshalls are the tenant)
* Ensure compliance with lease covenants (where Marshalls are the landlord)
* Provision of ad hoc specialist support for commercial property projects within industrial and commercial portfolio
Management of business rates liabilities

What are the mission-critical skills?

* You will be a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or potentially MRTPI qualified) bringing a recognised level of professional expertise.
* You’ll have solid, hands-on experience in the minerals industry, particularly in managing and developing mineral property projects.
* You’ll be a strong communicator, able to engage effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
* You’ll be commercially astute, with strong business awareness and a practical approach to decision-making.
* You’ll have the ability to travel nationally as required, with a full driving licence.
* You’ll be adaptable and comfortable with new technology, confident in learning and applying new IT systems to support your work.
