Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Manufacturing Designer and Production Controller, with a strong manufacturing background, to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing work instructions for the factory floor, creating manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD, managing material stock levels, obtaining raw material quotations, and purchasing raw materials. Additionally, the role involves progressing purchase orders with suppliers, handling customer enquiries, administering customer orders, answering production queries, advising on production lead times, and organising the dispatch of finished goods.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce work instructions for the factory floor.
* Create manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.
* Assist in managing material stock levels.
* Obtain quotations for raw materials and purchase raw materials.
* Progress purchase orders with suppliers via email and phone.
* Handle customer enquiries via email and phone.
* Administer customer orders.
* Answer production queries.
* Advise on production lead times.
* Organize the dispatch of finished goods.
* Assist in drafting and implementing administration and manufacturing procedures.
Experience:
* 2 years in a manufacturing environment preferable, with sheet metal products (if accompanied with a manufacturing Apprenticeship).
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow.
Skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

* Excellent documentation skills to maintain and update records.
