Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of key multi-project business initiatives, coordinating programme workstreams, managing interdependencies, overseeing risks and issues.
Responsibilities
* Consolidate and document the fundamental components of programmes (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities, issues, and quality requirements).
* Prepare and maintain an overall schedule for resource use in related projects, avoiding bottlenecks and conflicting demands.
* Establish and maintain governance arrangements for programme delivery, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities aligned with organisational practice.
* Accountable for the successful delivery of essential large‑scale programmes of work to drive significant business growth.
* Ensure new projects are delivered to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget.
* Chair senior stakeholder committee meetings.
* Identify and monitor programme risks (threats and opportunities), plan and implement responses, and address other issues that affect programmes.
* Communicate to internal and external stakeholders regarding progress, risks, issues and milestone delivery.
* Lead a group of project managers to drive delivery of key project objectives.
* Oversee a range of different projects across the department.
* Manage finances and budgets.
* Hold regular review sessions with project managers and workstream leads.
* Manage stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests.
Qualifications
* A highly organised and focused Project Manager who genuinely cares about customers, colleagues and is motivated to get things done.
* 10+ years of experience delivering large‑scale transformation projects.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent leadership skills with a good understanding of motivating and driving programme delivery.
* Strong understanding of the logistics and supply chain industries.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).
* Qualified with experience in PRINCE2, APM, Agile, and/or Waterfall accreditation.

Security Clearance
Candidates must be eligible to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. This process includes verification of identity, right to work in the UK, employment history, and a basic criminal records check for unspent convictions. Candidates must have resided in the UK for 3 years to meet BPSS eligibility requirements.
