Customer Services Assistant
Location : Yate, Bristol
Salary : depending on experience
Job type : Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday)
Our client is a Bristol based wholesale company, and they are currently seeking a Full Time, Permanent, Customer Services / Telesales Assistant to join their friendly sales team based in Yate, Bristol.
Don’t have previous sales experience? Don’t worry their friendly sales / customer support team are happy to offer training and support to help you develop in the role.

Our client is one of the largest independent foodservice companies in the South West. They supply a full range of frozen, chilled and ambient foods together with an extensive range of non-food catering products.
The role:
This position will suit someone who is enthusiastic, helpful, and ideally has experience of working in customer service or sales roles and likes to work part as a team. However, they will also accept applications from candidates looking for their first sales role, plenty of training and support will be offered by their friendly sales / customer support team.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
11. Handling of outbound and inbound customer calls
12. Order capture, ensuring products are keyed accurately
13. Liaising with colleagues across the business to resolve issues and answer customer queries
14. Providing customers with up-to-date product information
15. Building customer relationships
16. Working alongside the field sales team to co-manage customer accounts and communicate customer information
17. Gaining an awareness of competitor activity
18. Promoting new products through positive customer relations and product knowledge
19. Delivering on sales targets through effective up selling, cross selling and maintaining of existing product range purchased
20. Effective use of questioning to identify opportunities and match suitable products to customers
21. Working within company GP margin guidelines
The person:
A Customer Services Assistant will be expected to have the following skills and attributes:
22. Proven experience of working in a sales or customer service role is desirable, however they are happy to hear from applicants that are looking for their first sales role
23. Computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly
24. Good level of numeracy and English literacy skills
25. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
26. Friendly, helpful, disposition with excellent customer service skills
27. Target driven
28. Great attention to detail
29. Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines remaining calm in challenging situations
30. Comfortable making and answering telephone calls with a professional and friendly telephone manner
31. Ability to work in a team as well as individually
32. Self-motivated with good time management skills
33. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a desire to show initiative
