Overview
Senior Quantity Surveyor role at Galliford Try. Located in Edinburgh / East Central Scotland / East Lothian. An opportunity has arisen to join Morrison Construction as part of the team. Ideally based in or around the Edinburgh, East Lothian or Borders area with the opportunity to work on an identified project within this region.
What you will be doing
* Analysis of tender allowances
* The measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings) for valuations, variations and final accounts
* Agreement of valuation dates and preparing, submitting interim valuations in accordance with those dates
* Administering and/or advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
* Subcontract and Design Procurement
* Subcontract payments, variations and final accounts
* Submission of Cost Value Reconciliations
* Preparation of cost to complete
* Cash management and maximisation
* Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
* Provision of standard reports
* Internal Valuations/CVRs and subcontract liability reports in accordance with schedule of accounting period end dates and deadlines
About You
* Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
* Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors
* Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting
* Excellent team player whilst also able to work independently
* Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
* Experience of working within the Construction industry for a Main Contractor, specifically on Design and Build; sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract
* Experience of two stage open book collaborative approach is desirable
