Job Description:
The Role
This is an opportunity to join Kingston University’s Department of Architecture and Landscape as a Lecturer in Landscape Architecture. You will be an influential member of a close-knit group of academics involved in research- and practice-led teaching, workshops, seminars, and forward-thinking studies.
As module leader for the MLA Landscape Architecture and the MA Urban Design, you’ll coordinate a team of talented lecturers to design, manage, and deliver a dynamic, relevant, and practice-informed curriculum. You will lead the Landscape Technologies and Professional Practice modules and contribute to Design Studios across both courses.
You will manage resources to enhance and improve teaching content and experience, using various technologies and approaches. You will collaborate with university staff to maintain high-quality standards and work closely with students to support their educational journey.
You’ll also share knowledge and expertise through professional consultancy or academic research, disseminate research outputs, and pursue opportunities to support students’ future careers.
The Person
You should hold at least a postgraduate degree in Landscape Architecture and/or Urbanism or a related field, with relevant professional experience. A CMLI status is required, and a PhD or working towards one is desirable. A teaching qualification is preferred, and UKPSF recognition should be achieved during probation.
You are motivated to deliver outstanding teaching and support, embedding professional practice into your work, and enriching your teaching with ongoing research and practice. You should be committed to continuous improvement, professional networking, and collaboration to enhance the faculty’s reputation.
