The Role
As a Part-Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant, you will manage a mixed portfolio of clients and work closely with senior members of the team across accounts, tax and advisory assignments.
This is a broad role offering excellent client exposure and the opportunity to continue developing your technical and commercial skills within a supportive practice environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102 1A
* Managing a mixed portfolio of clients across a variety of industries
* Supporting with corporation tax compliance and related client queries
* Assisting clients with cloud accounting software and finance-related matters
* Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including exposure to partial exemption calculations under guidance from the tax department
* Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
* Supporting senior team members with ad-hoc advisory and compliance work
* Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently
* Working collaboratively across the wider practice team
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will likely have:
* ACA or ACCA part-qualified, or newly qualified
* Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice environment
* Strong organisational and portfolio management skills
* Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients and industries
* Good knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero
* Experience using CaseWare would be advantageous
* Familiarity with TaxCalc would also be beneficial
* Some VAT knowledge, including exposure to VAT calculations and compliance work
* Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
* A proactive and professional approach with strong attention to detail
