Role Overview
The OFCI Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end management of all Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment and packages for a large-scale data centre project. This includes procurement coordination, logistics, delivery tracking, interface management, and ensuring timely installation in line with the project schedule.
This role is critical to ensuring that long-lead and client-supplied equipment (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure) is delivered, managed, and handed over efficiently to contractors for installation.
Key Responsibilities
OFCI Package Management
* Lead the planning and execution of all OFCI packages across the project lifecycle
* Develop and maintain the OFCI execution strategy aligned with the master programme
* Manage equipment including (but not limited to):
* Generators, UPS systems, transformers
* Switchgear and electrical distribution equipment
* Cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC units, chillers)
* IT racks and associated infrastructure
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
* Coordinate with client procurement teams and suppliers
* Track manufacturing progress and ensure adherence to delivery schedules
* Review supplier documentation, submittals, and technical compliance
Logistics & Delivery Management
* Oversee logistics planning including shipping, customs, and site delivery
* Manage storage, handling, and preservation of equipment on-site
* Ensure proper sequencing of deliveries to align with construction activities
Interface & Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the key interface between client, vendors, contractors, and consultants
Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and design teams
Ensure clear communication of responsibilities for installation and handover
Programme & Risk Management
Integrate OFCI schedules into the overall project programme
Identify risks related to delays, logistics, or supply chain issues
Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Installation & Handover Support
* Ensure readiness for contractor installation (access, information, sequencing)
* Support QA/QC processes and commissioning activities
* Manage documentation, warranties, and asset handover
Key Requirements
Experience
* 5+ years’ experience in data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale construction projects
* Proven experience managing OFCI packages or equivalent supply chain roles
* Strong understanding of MEP systems within data centres
Skills
* Excellent project coordination and organisational skills
* Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
* Ability to manage multiple vendors and complex interfaces
* Proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
