This is a fixed‑term position until 31 March 2028, with the possibility of a further 18‑month extension, subject to funding.

Role Overview
Senior Children’s Intelligence Analyst to contribute to Medway Council’s vision of enabling residents to get the best start, develop well, and live healthy, independent lives by providing high‑quality data, intelligence, and information.
The successful candidate will lead the creation and maintenance of performance dashboards and reports, ensure compliance with statutory reporting, apply advanced analytical techniques for in‑depth data analysis, and deliver clear and engaging data presentations while maintaining high levels of data quality and adhering to data protection regulations. The role involves engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs, delivering data‑driven solutions, leading analytical projects, staying updated with the latest data sources and analytical tools, and assisting with training and development across the directorate, including recruitment and induction training.
Application Requirements
Applicants should outline their knowledge, experience, and skills in the following six areas, providing specific examples that demonstrate how they meet each criterion.
* Proven experience of working autonomously and as part of a team, with access to advice and guidance when necessary.
* Knowledge of relevant tools, applications and systems such as R, SQL, Power BI, Excel and case management systems.
* Ability to extract data from multiple sources and determine if the data is accurate and fit for purpose.
* Experience in creating detailed analysis, comprehensive reports, and interactive dashboards.
* Knowledge of key data protection principles and processes, such as including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
* Ability to translate technical concepts to a non‑technical audience and present appropriate recommendations comfortably.
Standard DBS check will be required.
