Mitie has a fantastic new opportunity in our Projects division for an experienced Project Manager with a strong electrical background in the DNO, IDNO, or ICP industry to join their team!
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the renewable or embedded generation sector, along with the associated industry authorisations and supporting qualifications.
A strong construction project management background with the supporting qualifications is essential, as the role will support a specific project and report to the Construction Manager.
Role overview:
* Review the project throughout the design process and ensure its readiness for handover to the construction team.
* Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant standards such as DNO G81, BS standards, clients' ERs, or other relevant standards, and effectively manage and deliver construction projects from design handover to completion, including all associated commissioning works.
* Update and manage the Programme of Works, ensuring all key personnel are informed of any changes.
* Produce three-week, monthly, and three-month look-ahead plans, identifying key risks and critical path tasks.
* Familiarise yourself with the CPP, F10 (if required), and G2's suite of HSEQ documentation. In conjunction with the Site Manager and Project team, you are responsible for site safety and security.
* Assist and provide information to the HSEQ Manager in the production of RAMS, audits, etc., providing technical detail as needed.
* Carry out suitable Quality Assurance (QA), ensure pre-work checks and sign-offs are completed, verifying work is to specification and design. Compile and collate test certificates, reports, etc., within the Handover File.
Person specification:
* Minimum of HNC in Electrical/Civil Engineering or equivalent experience, with 5+ years working in the construction industry, specifically in Electrical infrastructure projects.
* Experience working within a 'NERS' (National Electricity Registration Scheme) environment.
* Experience with installation or project management of electrical infrastructure up to 132 kV.
* Essential: Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, generators, substations, etc., and comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and compliance on construction sites.
* Ability to chair the project's technical meetings with design and operations teams, including DNO and client technical advisors.
