*Job Title: *Deputy Nursery Manager (Fixed Term Contract)*Contract type: *Fixed term for 6 months, with possibility of extension.*Hours:* 40 per week*Salary:* £34,652 per annum*Location:* Little Treasures Day NurseryWe have a fantastic opportunity to join this friendly team at a private day nursery in the Worcester area. Hours are Monday to Friday all year round, covering 7.15am until 6pm. Shift patterns vary with an average of 40 hours per week.The ideal candidate for the Nursery Deputy Manager position would need to have the following:* Solid understanding of the EYFS framework.* Excellent experience and knowledge of safeguarding practice* A drive and love for working with and educating children.* A desire to continually learn and improve practice.* An ability to lead, coach and motivate a team.* An ability to identify priorities and meet outcomes.The Nursery Deputy Manager at times will help out in the rooms (eg holidays, sickness, lunch cover) but will be based in the office predominantly.Essential Qualifications and Experience:* Either NNEB, CACHE, NVQ, EYE, Level 3, or equivalent in early years childcare.* Minimum 5 years experience, at 2 least years working in a senior role within a childcare setting.* Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, health & safety, safeguarding.* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.* Ability to liaise with and develop good relationships with parents.Key responsibilities* Support the Nursery Manager in the day to day operations of the nursery.* Adhere to all the nurseries policies and procedures.* Must be able to manage the nursery in the absence of the Manager.* Must work as part of the Staff Team and liaise between the Staff and the Manager.* Ensure the nursery complies with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework.* Ensure good practice as set out in the EYFS Practice Guidance and they must ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, for example, Health and Safety Law and Employment Law.* When deputising must be able to execute the responsibilities of a Nursery Manager according to all lawful and ethical standards.* Assist with the monitoring of staff performance across the whole nursery.* Empower the team to deliver rich learning opportunities for all children through unique and exciting environments.* Assist with the recruitment and induction of new staff members.*Benefits** Sick Pay* Staff meetings one evening a month fully paid* Employee wellbeing program - BHSF* Continued professional development opportunities at a time to suit you* All hours of required training paid in full* Enhanced pension contribution by employer* Annual leave can be taken at any time of the year* An additional day of annual leave for your birthday* Free on-site parking* Free healthy snacks and hot drinks* 50% discounted childcare* Friendly and approachable staff team* Uniform providedCandidates must be able to demonstrate that they are suitably experienced for the position.
