With over 135 years of engineering excellence and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our established Pre-Construction team in Central London.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in securing high-profile projects, working alongside experienced design, commercial and operational teams from bid stage through to project delivery.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical estimating function on major projects, ensuring competitive and commercially robust submissions while supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical estimating activities across major tenders and negotiated opportunities.
* Produce detailed and competitive cost plans for HVAC, public health and mechanical building services packages.
* Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify commercial opportunities and technical risks.
* Manage supplier and subcontractor enquiries, analysing quotations and benchmarking market rates.
* Work closely with pre-construction managers, design teams and operational teams throughout the bid process.
* Contribute to value engineering initiatives, tender strategy and client presentations.
* Support and mentor junior estimators within the team.
* Maintain awareness of market conditions, labour trends and material pricing.
About You
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator or Senior Mechanical Estimator within the building services or MEP sector.
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems and installation methodologies.
* Experience pricing major commercial, healthcare, residential, data centre or other technically complex projects.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders while maintaining a high level of commercial accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience using industry-standard estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.
